Privacy Policy

Situationship Scanner (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy describes how we handle information when you use our mobile application (the “App”).

1. Summary

The App helps you scan chats you choose to import (for example WhatsApp exports or screenshots) and generate situationship-style reports on your device. Optional AI features may send limited text you provide to a third-party AI provider. Optional in-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information the App may process

• Chats you import. If you export a chat from WhatsApp (or another app) and open it in Situationship Scanner, that file is read on your device to produce a report. We do not operate a server that stores your chat exports for analysis.
• Screenshots and photos you choose. If you pick screenshots from your photo library, on-device text recognition (OCR) may read visible message text. That processing happens on your device unless you use an optional AI feature described below.
• Saved reports and local settings. Reports, partner labels, and similar preferences may be stored locally on your device. They remain until you delete them or uninstall the App.
• Optional AI features. Features such as AI reply suggestions or hashtag ideas may send the prompt or extracted conversation text you choose to a third-party AI provider (currently Google Gemini) to generate a response. Do not use those features if you do not want that text processed by the provider.
• Subscriptions. Purchases and renewals are handled by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) may provide limited subscription status information needed to unlock features.
• Diagnostics and analytics (if enabled). Device or SDK logs may include technical data (such as device type, app version, and crash information) according to those providers’ policies and your device settings.

3. How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
• To run on-device chat analysis and show reports you request.
• To generate optional AI replies or hashtags when you use those features.
• To process subscriptions and restore purchases where applicable.
• To troubleshoot errors and improve stability.

4. Sharing

We may share information with service providers who assist in operating the App (for example Apple for payments, RevenueCat for subscription status, and Google for optional AI features you trigger). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. Chat analysis reports are generated locally and are not uploaded by us for human review.

5. Data retention

Retention depends on the feature: imported chats, screenshots, and saved reports remain on your device until you clear them or uninstall the App. Optional AI requests are processed by the provider according to their own retention practices. Subscription records are retained by Apple as needed to operate billing.

6. Your choices

• You can clear the current scan and saved reports from in-app Settings, and adjust Photos or Files permissions in iOS Settings for the App.
• You can skip optional AI features if you do not want conversation text sent to an AI provider.
• You can manage subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
• Where applicable, you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold—contact us using the details below.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us.

8. International users

If you use the App from outside your home country, information may be processed in countries where our providers operate, which may have different data protection laws.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the effective date above.
