Magic Caption AI (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy describes how we handle information when you use our mobile application (the “App”).

1. Summary

The App helps you browse and generate caption ideas. We use third-party services (such as Google Firebase) to deliver content. Optional in-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information the App may process

• Caption content. Captions and related metadata may be loaded from a remote database (e.g., Firebase Realtime Database) configured for the App. That data is not “your” personal data unless you submit it through a feature we provide.
• Photos you choose. If you pick an image from your photo library for preview or sharing, that processing happens on your device unless you explicitly export or share it elsewhere.
• Favorites and local settings. Items you mark as favorites and similar preferences may be stored locally on your device (e.g., using on-device storage).
• Account data (if you sign in). If the App offers sign-in (for example, with email or Sign in with Apple via Firebase Authentication), we or our service providers may process identifiers and profile information needed to operate that feature.
• Subscriptions. Purchases and renewals are handled by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide us limited subscription status information needed to unlock features.
• Diagnostics and analytics (if enabled). Firebase or other SDKs may collect technical data (such as device type, app version, and crash logs) according to their own policies and your device settings.

3. How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
• To authenticate you and secure the service, if account features are used.
• To process subscriptions and restore purchases where applicable.
• To troubleshoot errors and improve stability.

4. Sharing

We may share information with service providers who assist in operating the App (for example, Google Firebase, Apple). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

5. Data retention

Retention depends on the feature: local favorites remain until you clear them or uninstall the App. Server-side data is retained as needed to operate the service and as required by law.

6. Your choices

• You can clear local favorites and adjust permissions (e.g., Photos) in iOS Settings for the App.
• You can manage subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
• Where applicable, you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold—contact us using the details below.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us.

8. International users

If you use the App from outside your home country, information may be processed in countries where our providers operate, which may have different data protection laws.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the effective date above.
